The Citizen published an article about Code Pharma, a Dutch pharmaceutical company developing a direct antiviral drug against Covid-19. Codivir, a 16-amino-acid synthetic peptide derived from HIV-1 integrase, was first discovered at Hebrew University in Israel. The peptide had a direct antiviral effect against the novel coronavirus Covid-19.
“We have seen good results with the drug”, said Zyon Ayni, CEO and founder of Code Pharma. “At some point during the epidemic, our flagship drug, Codivir, was detected as a very effective antiviral drug against the SARS-CoV-2 family, the virus that causes COVID-19 disease, in a controlled clinical trial in Brazil”.
